Strategy is only half of the story.
A technician sees a task; a builder sees a system. My work is about bridging that gap.
These cases detail how I’ve helped companies transition from defensive moves to optimizing gains.
From pioneering global best practices in a nascent work stream to rolling out complex process management models in a year of massive organizational change, I helped architect future-proof solutions that fit into the context of my clients' capacity and capabilities.

Case Studies

Process Migration, Innovation and Transition for FMCG digital operations
A multi-brand FMCG company was struggling with legacy digital asset management systems and inconsistent social media monitoring across its international markets, leading to high agency costs.
Leveraging his background as a LEAN Value Stream Mapping Expert, Johann pioneered the transition methodology to transition Digital Asset Management and Social Media Listening from external agencies to an in-house global shared service. He designed and implemented the Transition SIPOC methodology, which became the blueprint for global rollout across Asia-Pacific, the Americas, and EMEA markets.
The Results: Successfully centralized Digital Asset Management for billion-dollar brands, expanded the shared service portfolio to include Consumer Services Contact Center and Corporate Issue Tracking, and standardized global processes, ensuring brand consistency and significant cost optimization.

Engineering Business Process Excellence in Complex Logistics
A large-scale logistics and cold chain conglomerate faced "visibility gaps" in their warehouse and transport value streams, hindering their ability to spot inefficiencies, leakage and proper reporting of the value it creates in its business streams. The root cause was found to be in fragmented communication lines between collaborating teams, fuelled by legacy systems and ways of working.
Eventually, Johann led the comprehensive Value-Stream Mapping for Warehouse, Transport, and Cold Chain operations. He conducted rigorous fit-gap analyses and spearheaded the feasibility studies for transitioning HR into a shared service model.
The Results: the mapping exercises provided deep insights and buy-in across all levels of the organization for systemic change, it identified and bridged operational gaps and laid the foundation for scalable, tech-enabled logistics growth.

Driving Strategic Transformation in Global Banking Operations
A large-scale global banking hub faced "operational silos," where high-volume processing and complex financial workflows needed to be fully aligned with top-level corporate strategy. Without a cohesive transformation framework, work teams struggled with capacity bottlenecks, inconsistent KPIs, and missed opportunities for continuous improvement.
To address this, Johann managed a comprehensive transformation portfolio focused on institutionalizing Continuous Improvement. He utilized a sophisticated toolkit including LEAN, DMAIC, and Operations Management to streamline workflows. Crucially, he served as a co-pilot to Executive Heads, bridging the gap between day-to-day execution and strategic business planning.
The Results: Kaizen events and business KPIs built momentum in turning complex operational data into actionable strategic insights, global banking operations exceeded efficiency targets while maintaining workforce engagement, and the cohesive approach strengthened the organizational "improvement muscle," enabling the hub to maintain high-performance standards in a high-stakes financial environment.
